The Campus Police Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe learning environment, protecting the assets and interests of the institution, and enforcing laws, policies, and regulations. The officer performs a variety of police duties in patrolling the assigned area on foot and by motor vehicle to detect crime and arrest violators; patrolling parking lots and college buildings to ensure security and safety.

The officer performs a variety of police duties in patrolling the assigned area on foot and by motor vehicle to detect crime and arrest violators; patrolling parking lots and college buildings to ensure security and safety. Job Duties
Patrol the campus by foot and motor vehicle.
Checks doors and locks.
Investigate accidents involving persons or property, reports probable cause of accidents, and pursues appropriate courses of action.
Ensure that all incidents and arrest activities are properly documented.
Proficiently operate law enforcement equipment (including lethal and non-lethal weapons necessary in the performance of required duties.)
Keep records and prepares reports (offense, arrest, fire system, emergency phones, alarm systems, and mechanical equipment.)
Provide a law enforcement response to emergency situations, which include safety and illness/ injury investigations.
Support the mission of the Campus Police Department and that of the college.
Work collaboratively with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
Responsible for traffic control and enforcement.
Investigate suspected crimes, report findings, and arrest suspected individuals.
Make arrests and testify

Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • Meet the requirements of TCA 38-8-106 Qualification of Police Officers. • Meet the requirements of a Certified Police Officer per TCA 38-8-107. • Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies and to determine the proper course of action. • Must be able to obtain a clear background check. Must be they states in which we operate for POST (Peace Office Standard & Training) Certified or have a law enforcement certification recognized and accepted by the POST Commission of the state we operate in, or ability to become a P.O.S.T. certified within 6 months from hire date. • Must be physically, morally, and psychologically fit to meet the requirements of a Peace Officer in the state of Tennessee. • Possess a valid Driver’s License. • Must be willing to work different shifts, holidays, and multiple locations if needed.
